Abstract
Body practices and physical activities are recognized as effective actions for promoting health in the school environment. In Brazil, the School Health Programa has been one of the main public policies responsible for articulating the health and education sectors. This research analyzed body practices and physical activities in health planning instruments in the state of Piauí. It is a qualitative, documentary study with a descriptive-analytical design, drawing from sources such as the State Health Plan (2023–2024), the Annual Health Program (2023–2024), the Annual Management Report (2023–2024), School Health Program reports from the 2022–2024 cycle available in the Primary Health Care Information System, and Municipal Health Plans from four macro-regions. The municipalities were selected for convenience. The analysis followed a three-stage structured plan: description, explanation, and interpretation, combined with thematic analysis techniques. The results indicated weaknesses in the formulation and monitoring of body practices and physical activity actions, poor definition of goals and indicators, and a strong presence of a biomedical and assistance-oriented logic. It is recommended to strengthen collaborative planning and to expand body practices and physical activity initiatives based on local health promotion needs within school territories.
