This study analyzed how technological innovations applied to reverse logistics contribute to business sustainability and the mitigation of environmental impacts. Using a qualitative approach, through a multiple case study, three companies operating in distinct production contexts were investigated. Content analysis of the interviews revealed different levels of technological maturity, demonstrating that the integration between technology, management, and environmental responsibility is crucial for the effectiveness of reverse processes. It was observed that, even in structures with low automation, such as Company A, the adoption of systematic management practices allows for consistent results. Company B stood out for its use of disruptive technologies, such as Metallurgy 4.0 and biotechnology, favoring a high rate of waste reuse and the generation of economic value. Company C, with integrated industrial systems and controls, showed gains in productivity and waste reduction. The empirical results confirm alignment with contemporary literature, which points to technological innovation as a strategic factor for sustainable development and the transition to circular economy models. It is concluded that technological innovation simultaneously strengthens operational efficiency, environmental performance, and business competitiveness. It is recommended that future studies broaden the empirical scope and explore mixed methods, considering quantitative metrics and longitudinal analyses that allow for tracking the evolution of technological maturity over time.
